The June full moon yoga hosted by Kate at Gorge View Bush Retreat, and my uniquely tailored sound immersion by the fire was so magical and relaxing. I woke up the next morning with a spring in my step, a smile on my face and a rose coloured happy heart.

Our setting for the evening was comfortably nestled amongst rolling hills looking out towards the steep Nitmiluk Gorge escarpments located near Katherine in the Northern Territory. I have travelled extensively and will hand on heart and pinky promise that sunsets in the Northern Territory are like no other I have seen. The vibrant reds, oranges and lavish purples are honestly dazzling. To kick off the evening we had one such spectacular sunset on one side of us, lighting up the cliff faces of the gorge and a full moon rising on the other.

Kate took the group through breathwork, yoga stretching and meditation by the light of the glorious moon and a crackling fire before I ended the session with my sound healing. Before I go off on a different tangent I want to sing the praises of Kate's delicious home made hummus with crackers and vegetarian soup.... YUMMY, I will happily come for snacks at yours again anytime!.

I very much enjoy doing sound immersions outdoors, especially at night with the sounds of nature all around from the gentle breeze rustling leaves to the calls of nocturnal birds echoing across the valley, cicada song and the fire crackling, we even had Dingo's howling at the moon which was such a delightful auditory experience.

When doing a sound immersion experience I put careful consideration into tailoring a framework specifically for that session then build on that based on the participants, the general vibe and any other feeling indicators I pick up. As it’s the dry season up here we are getting much cooler nights. To set a warming tone for the group my main focus was using the rich deep tones of notes C and D, which vibrate red and orange hues, highlighted with F note, to keep our hearts strongly beating the good red stuff around our bodies for warmth. Since the evening wasn’t as cold as some of the previous nights I added in more of the wonderful trinkling water sounds of the rain-sticks than I had originally anticipated.

The sound healing was just so beautiful, I have never heard these bowls before they are like magic, thank you so much. Participant feedback.

Reach out and lets organise your own special sound immersion journey. ✨
